It was an occasion marked by mixed feelings.
Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Wilfried Hartmann celebrated not only his own birthday, but also that of his wife – in memory of the deceased. He spent the day at a garden party with family, friends, and companions. Feeling the need to share this beautiful moment by asking his guests to join him in supporting international exchange and donating to the DAAD-Stiftung (DAAD Foundation).

To this end, he contacted the foundation's office in advance and had materials sent to him, some of which were used for crafts and some for display. Donations instead of gifts – a classic special occasion donation.
